Dr. Valerie Adcock, D.C.

Dr. Valerie Adcock

Dr. Valerie Adcock is a native of Charleston, South Carolina. Dr. Adcock had a biology focus in her Undergraduate receiving her Doctor of Chiropractic from Life University in Marietta, Georgia. While studying at College of Charleston, Dr. Adcock became a licensed EMT-B and worked on an ambulance for almost two years before finding her place in Chiropractic School. It was also during this time that she interned with Chiropractic Neurologist, Dr. Matthew Antonucci of Plasticity Brain Centers.

The patients Dr. Adcock saw with Dr. Antonucci ranged from wellness patients to those with ADHD and Parkinson’s disease. The moment she knew she wanted to become a Chiropractor was with one patient in particular with Parkinson’s disease. An elderly woman patient would come into the office and attempt to draw a circle before treatment. The circle was always disjunct and not smooth and connected. She would perform various simple neurological exercises with Dr. Antonucci, and then was adjusted. The woman would then draw a circle after treatment, and the circle would be smooth and connected. It was this reason that kept her son driving many hours to come see Dr. Antonucci, because this smoother movement of her hands meant she could do things like feed herself at home.

Dr. Adcock has a passion for fitness and functional movement patterns, and incorporates this passion everyday to assist patients to reach their full potential. Dr. Adcock utilizes a wide range of techniques that are gentle and low-impact, including Activator instrument adjusting. She is proficient in several manual techniques as well, including traditional hands-on Diversified, Extremity Manipulation, SOT, Thompson, and Flexion Distraction, to name a few. Her specialties include arthrokinematics, KinesioTaping, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (FAKTR, Graston), Active Release Technique (A.R.T.), automobile accidents, and postural correction. Dr. Adcock is a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic in Georgia. She is board certified in Radiography, Physiotherapy, X-ray Supervision and Operation.

In her spare time, Dr. Adcock enjoys staying fit with spin class, traveling, and spending time with family and friends and volunteering her time with local charities/events in Atlanta.
